Shoplifter Charged

On December 9th 2017, a female and a male attended a local business where the female selected items of clothing from the display rack. She entered the change room and emerged wearing some of that clothing under her original clothes. She then handed her coat to a male who left the store with it.

Impaired Driver After Failing To Stop for Stop Sign

On the 15 December 2017 at approximately 12:30 am, Midland Police were on general patrol in the downtown area of Midland. Police observed a motor vehicle partially in the snow bank on the side of the road and subsequently observed the vehicle "blow a stop sign".

Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and further investigation revealed the driver was impaired by alcohol.

Impaired Driver Causes Accident and Flees The Scene

On the 14 December 2017 at approximately 7:30 pm, the Midland Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on the east side of town. The investigation revealed the male suspect caused a collision and fled the scene. A short time later, police located the male.

Fail To Comply With Probation and Recognizance

On December 10, 2017 Midland Police were called to an east end residence in regards to a disturbance. Once there they encountered a woman who was under the influence of an illegal drug. Investigation of the woman revealed that she was currently on charges and out on bail. As a result of this incident she was found to be in violation of her bail conditions.

Assault, Mischief & Forcible Confinement

The Midland Police have charged a 27 year old man with Assault, Mischief and Forcible Confinement after an altercation at a Midland residence. The suspect threw the victim down on some furniture causing it to break and then choked the victim.

Numerous Charges For Both Parties In A Domestic Assault

On the 20 November 2017 at approximately 8:45 pm, the Midland Police responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on the east side of town. The investigation revealed a man and woman got into a physical altercation. The woman was
transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.


Criminal Charges

The Midland Police Service has charged a 28-year-old man with assault after an argument began while walking on the East side of town. The argument escalated and the suspect pushed the victim to the ground. The incident happened on November 28th 2017.

Theft of Medication

On November 26th 2017 the Midland Police Service were called to a residence on the west side of town. The victim informed officers that a person known to them had entered her apartment and stole her medication; the suspect then fled the area.

Shoplifting & Breaching Probation

On November 8th 2017 a 36 year old Midland resident attended a local supermarket, walked directly to the meat department and began filling up baskets full of meat. The suspect proceeded to the exit and left the store without paying for the meat. The suspect’s actions were observed on video and he was recognized by police. He was located and arrested by police.
