Transportation Fraud


Criminal Charges

On Saturday, June 10, at approximately 2:30pm, a local Taxi Company contacted Midland Police Service reporting an adult male fled from the taxi failing to pay his fare.

The 24 year old Midland man was transported from Port McNicoll to a rear entrance of a downtown store. The male told the taxi driver he would return to pay for his fare but failed to do so.

Fail To Comply With Probation


Criminal Charges

On June 8, 2017, Midland Police Service attended an east end residence after neighbours called about a female yelling and screaming. Upon arrival the officers located a man and woman involved in a verbal domestic dispute. The woman was on probation with conditions that she not communicate with the man or be in his residence. As a result the suspect was arrested and charged.

Disturbing The Peace

On June 8th 2017 at 1:00am the Midland Police Service was called to a disturbance at a local motel on the west end of town. Officers arrived and observed a man yelling and swearing at anyone who was in the vicinity. Officers tried to calm the suspect but he continued to yell, scream and curse. The officers cautioned the subject that if he did not stop he would be arrested.

Drug Impaired Driver

On Tuesday June 6th, 2017, Midland Police Service received a complaint of a hit and run collision on Bayshore Drive in the Town of Midland. The complainant had been struck by a vehicle that veered into his lane and collided into the side of his vehicle.

Shoplifter Charged

On May 24th, 2017 the Midland Police Service received a complaint from a business on the West Side of Town in regards to a female shoplifter that was in custody with the Loss Prevention Officer. Midland Police attended and learned that the female attempted to steal $47.00 worth of make-up, before being stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer.

Breach of Probation


Criminal Charges

On the 03 June 2017 at approximately 3:25 pm, Midland Police Service responded to an intoxicated woman sitting in a park on the north side of Midland. The investigation revealed the suspect was extremely intoxicated and unable to care for herself.

Breach Of Undertaking


Criminal Charges

On the 02 June 2017 at approximately 9:28 am, Midland Police conducted a traffic stop on the east side of Midland. The investigation revealed the male driver was a suspended driver. Further investigation revealed, the suspect was currently bound by an Undertaking with the condition not to be in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle.

Assault


Criminal Charges

On May 24, 2017 Midland police investigated the report of a parental assault on a child. The investigation concluded that the father bit the child to discipline her. Further investigation revealed that the father also pushed the child which caused minor injuries. The suspect was charged with 2 counts of Assault and released on a Promise to Appear with a court date for July 6, 2017.
