On Saturday April 15th, 2017, while on patrol in the Town of Midland, a vehicle was stopped for a traffic infraction by Midland Police. Upon approaching the driver's side of the vehicle the officer detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from the breath of the vehicle operator.
A roadside screening device demand was made and the driver provided a sample of her breath. The driver registered a fail and was arrested for driving while over 80 mgs of alcohol. The driver was transported to Midland Police Services for the purpose of providing further breath samples.
The driver completed the necessary tests and was charged with impaired care/control and over 80 mgs of alcohol. The vehicle was seized and impounded for 7 days and her licence was suspended for 90 days. The suspect is to appear in Midland Court of Justice on Thursday April 27th, 2017 at 930am.
